We are happy to see a child of ANY age and we would encourage families to bring their children for a routine Eye check from about 6 months old or before if you have concerns.
Research shows that 1 in 5 schoolchildren have an undiagnosed vision problem -that's 20% of children. The sooner these problems are detected – the better the outcome. Many childhood eye conditions such as “lazy eye” and squints can be treated very effectively if they are picked up early. Sometimes these conditions run in families.
Stella and her team are here to look after your child’s eyes and give you advice. It's easy to neglect our eyes because they don't usually hurt when there is something wrong. The eye is developing throughout early childhood so if problems are treated the difference can last a lifetime. Here we will assess the health of your child’s eyes, advise if specs are needed or not, if there is a colour vision problem and much more!
